Every Etsy fee, explained
Listing fee: $0.20 each time a listing is published or renewed. When an item sells, the listing renews, so you pay $0.20 per item sold. Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price plus shipping. Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 on what the buyer pays (US). Offsite Ads: 15% (or 12% for bigger shops) on sales from Etsy's ads, capped at $100 per order.
Example: a $25 candle with $5 shipping
Order total $30. Listing $0.20 + transaction $1.95 + processing $1.15 = $3.30 in fees, about 11%. If the candle costs you $6 and shipping costs $4.50, you keep $16.20.

Questions people ask
How much does Etsy take from a sale?
For a typical US order, about 10–12% of the order total before ads: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee and 3% + $0.25 payment processing. Offsite Ads add 12–15% on sales they bring in, capped at $100.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The transaction fee and payment processing are charged on the shipping you charge the buyer, not just the item price.
Can I turn off Offsite Ads?
Shops under $10,000 a year in sales can opt out. Shops that made $10,000 or more in the past year can't.
