How PayPal fees work
PayPal takes a percent of the payment plus a flat fee every time you get paid for something you sold. Sending money to friends and family from a bank balance is usually free, but business sales are charged.
Example: a $100 sale
At 2.99% + $0.49 the fee is $3.48 and you receive $96.52. To receive a full $100, charge $103.59.
Fees are a write-off
PayPal fees are a business expense. Profit Pop sorts them into the right tax category for you, so they lower what you owe.
